missing you, my dear friend. I am very grateful to have such wonderful memories that will always be in my heart.

My condolences to all of Gwenda's family. I had the privilege of working with Glwenda for well over 20 years on multiple real estate transactions. Her good nature, humor and professionalism made each encounter a positive, even when the transaction was difficult or complicated.

I am very saddened to have heard of Gwenda's passing, and will miss her laughter and positive attitude.

When my future husband came to meet the family for the first time in August of 2006 of course that included a dinner with Mrs. Zdenek, complete with sock sliding on her dining room floor.

When I was 3 years old the Zdeneks moved in next door to us. Courtney was 4 and my sister was 5 so we spent a lot of time playing together. One day Mrs. Zdenek gave me a toy makeup set. Being one of four kids, my parents generally didn’t buy us toys unless it was for Christmas or a birthday, so her generosity made an impression on me from a young age. I continued to see her showering people with love in all kinds of meaningful ways as long as I knew her. As a teenager I once complimented a bejeweled pocket mirror that she had (it was very classy just like her), and she immediately and nonchalantly said, “You can have it”. I protested and said, “I can’t take your mirror!” But she responded by saying “It’s just stuff.” That always stuck with me. I always admired her elegant style, but her loving actions betrayed the fact that the people she loved were her most valuable treasures. When I was in high school she invited me to have weekly dinners with her. We often spent time during the holidays with the Zdeneks playing games and sharing a lot of laughter. She made us feel like part of her family. She told us we could call her “Mommy 2”. When I moved to Pennsylvania for college she sent me letters for every week of my first semester! As much as she was poised and polite, she also knew how to have fun. One of my fondest memories is from watching the Olympics at her house and trying to copy the athletes’ jumps and spins in her living room. And I can still remember her incredulous laughter when she discovered me hiding curled up at Courtney’s feet under a backpack in their little coupe after she had started driving home from our house. Mommy 2, you are one of the people who “loved me into being” to quote Fred Rogers. I will miss you dearly, and I thank God for the impact you’ve had on my life that I could never adequately capture in words. You’re taking a part of my heart with you. I loVe you (capital V!).

Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your beloved mother who was a kind and special lady. Although I didn't know Gwenda well, one thing was very clear and that was her love for you, Autumn, and Brooke.  It's said a mother's love is eternal, and I pray that Gwenda's eternal love will guide you as you raise your beautiful daughters. I only met your mom a handful of times during you & Heather's high school years, but I know she had to be a special person to have raised you.          I have such fond, loving memories of Gwenda.  Everyone who knew her was truly blessed to have her in  their lives. Gwenda was extremely intelligent, diligent and industrious.  I never met Gwenda in  person. She was the voice on the phone that took me  through every step of a 1031 Exchange from the time she worked for Roger  to the time she worked with Kirk.  How long had she been my friend I wondered? More than 20 years, I am sure. When her husband  passed, she was so thankful for our card.  Your distinct voice and positive attitude will be forever missed .  Have a good trip Gwenda! We are praying for you. Godspeed!  

Gwenda was like no other. Girly Girl and a BOSS! She loved her girls, cats, shopping, and having a great laugh over dinner. I am eternally grateful because she took time to love on me, mentor me, and laugh and cry with me.  When I went away for school, she wrote me every week with handmade cards. For some reason we didn't talk as much in the last year but by text. I picked up the phone in May and said hey I just needed to hear you.  During the call she told me family first when I told her about a potential job I was debating on taking. She knew what she was talking about. I told her I was coming to see her this week. But she knew time is not ours. Love today. For that I am eternally grateful.
