Helen L. Petrina

Helen Lynch O'Brien Petrina of West Palm Beach, FL, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 surrounded by her family and special friends. Helen was predeceased by her husbands Richard C. O'Brien of Syracuse, NY and Michael J. Petrina of West Palm Beach, FL; her parents George D. Lynch MD and Irene Hughes Lynch; her brothers Robert E. Lynch, George D. Lynch DDS, Charles H. Lynch, MD and her sister Irene L. Lynch BSN MPH.

She is survived by her children Irene Ward (Brian), Richard O'Brien, Kristen O'Brien, Jeffrey O'Brien (Luanne); grandchildren Erin, Kyle, Shane, Luke and Brad; dear friend and family member by choice Louise Brouillette; 18 nieces and nephews and many great and great, great nieces and nephews.

Born January 7, 1923 in Syracuse, NY Helen was a graduate of Convent School and Syracuse University after which she taught in Syracuse University's Dept. of Home Economics. Helen later directed the Women's Demonstration Kitchen at the New York State Fair and then moved to Bath, NY where she had a successful career in promotion and public relations for the Taylor Wine Company before retiring in 1982.

Helen was an example of strength, grace, and a faithful friend to all who knew her. She will be dearly missed.

The Mass of the Resurrection wil be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 2, 2015 at St. Edward Catholic Church, Palm Beach, FL.

Interment will be at St. Agnes Cemetery in Syracuse, NY at a later date.
