She was predeceased by two young brothers, one older brother, José, and a sister, Fina. Juana immigrated to West Palm Beach in 1957 with her son a year after her husband immigrated. They became one of the first 25 Cuban families in the area. She and her husband were founding members of the Cuban American Club and enjoyed many activities there. In her later years, she enjoyed getting together with friends at the CAC to play dominoes and help set up the ballroom for any dances and parties.
She proudly became an American citizen in 1977. Juana was a very strong and caring person. She was responsible for bringing many family members to America, even providing them a place to stay. She was very talented at sewing and was an excellent Cuban cook. She loved flowers and gardening, particularly orchids and growing the very best mangoes and avocados. Juana was also very much an animal lover.
Rest in peace our Mami and Abuela. Adios y Vaya con Dios.
