It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our Mom, Maria Lane. She passed into the arms of our Heavenly Father on December 6, 2015 after a short illness. Mom was predeceased by her husband, Jim Lane, her sons Harry and Richard Lane, and her parents and seven siblings.
She leaves to mourn her daughters, Vivian Lane and husband Rick Swol, and Carmen Lane Englebert, and her beloved grandsons Jason and Kyle Areford . She also leaves to mourn a multitude of nieces and nephews , as well as, many devoted and devout friends.
Mom was born in SonSon, Colombia on July 7, 1928. She married in 1953. Her journey with our father took her to Honduras and back to Colombia before finally settling in West Palm Beach in 1966. Mom was a devout Catholic and was a daily communicant at Saint Juliana Church and Holy Name of Jesus Church. Her faith and her family were her life. She had a prayer for every situation and there is a holy Relic in every room of her house. Because of her devotion to our Blessed Mother Mary traveled to religious sites in Israel, Spain, France and Croatia. She participated in many prayer groups with her devoted friends. Mom will always be remembered for her faith, strength , and generosity. She changed the life of many, especially friends and family who came to America from Central and South America.
Thank you to her friends who comforted her and prayed with her during her last days. Thank you to the Hospice staff at Good Samaritan Hospital for their loving and compassionate care. Thank you to Dr. Robert Raymond for the care, attention, and patience he had for our Mom. Her love for God, her faith, her family , and her friends will carry on as she watches us from above.
