

Marjorie Helen Harris O’Neal, 94, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2014. Marjorie was born in Iowa in 1919, and she was the fifth of five children. Her family moved to south Florida to farm. She graduated from Florida State University in 1942 with a degree in homemaking. Marjorie’s determination, deep faith, and positive disposition were the foundation of her marriage and the loving home where she and her husband raised their four children. She wrote the job description for mother and home manager, and at the same time, she was her husband’s primary support, grounding rod, executive wife, and bridge partner. They enjoyed nearly 50 years of marriage. They worked hard, enjoyed the friendship of many, and donated their time and talent to their church and community.
Mrs. O’Neal was preceded in death by her husband G. Allen O’Neal. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Ann O’Neal and Kenny Mallard of Bryan, Texas; a son and daughter-in-law Robert and Kim O’Neal of West Dundee, Illinois; a daughter Jeanna O’Neal Wyche, a daughter and son-in-law Beth O’Neal and George Pacocha of Keller, Texas; and four marvelous grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, February 3, 2014, at Quattlebaum Funeral, Cremation and Event Center. A memorial service is set for 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at Memorial Presbyterian Church in West Palm Beach with a gathering/reception in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service. The Reverend Bill Stepp and Pastor Randy Bare, will officiate. A private burial will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
