Michael Robert Prinzo left this life on December 20th 2016. He fought a brave, stoic war against a force stronger than his will, his tenacity and his courage. Cancer was his opponent for more than a year.
Anyone who knew Mike, knows of his competitive drive, his desire to give attention to all things in the moment. He lived his beliefs and walked the talk every day. He was an amazing soul with a heart of pure unconditional love and kindness.
Mike never had a negative word to say about anything breathing. He loved nature, he loved animals ( we have 3 dogs and a cat currently and his beloved yellow Lab Max was waiting for him wherever he is now). Mike loved weather. Mike loved his mistress. Her name was Racquetball. He loved to be in the gym. He loved music. He loved the ocean, the moon, sunrises and working in the yard with his dog. He was a very simple man who loved hard and lived a very peaceful, spiritual life. He always believed a lesson was found in every challenge we faced.
When he was diagnosed, he never questioned his fate. He was searching for the lesson. “What should I be learning from the cancer?” He directed his energy from a pity party to soul searching.
Mike made peace with his time and learned something on every step of his journey. He was our best teacher. He taught us how to leave with grace and dignity. Our greatest privilege was seeing the example he set.
Mike was the epitome of what a father, husband, brother, uncle, grandpa, employer, friend and human being should be. He loved his family deeply. His children and his wife were his world.
Mike leaves behind his wife and partner of 35 years, Amy ( nee Klein), his four children, Michael II (Rebecca), Brian (Courtney), Jared and Carly. He leaves his four beautiful grandchildren; Ava, Jack, Olivia and Taylor. He leaves his brother Richard “Rick” (Eve) and his sister Sandy Hastings who will miss him every day. He will be greatly missed by his in laws, Janet & Kenny Klein. He was the uncle and cousin to so many whose lives he touched.
He was predeceased by his parents, Marian & Robert Prinzo, his late sister, Patricia Lezaca, his two late brothers in law, Todd Klein and Roger Katen.
He loved family. He loved life and he loved racquetball enough to mention twice.
Mike did not want to be grieved. He wanted his life to be celebrated for all he learned and all he gave which he did consciously each day. He proclaimed his religion to be kindness on all forms.
A Celebration of Michael’s Life will be held January 7, 2017 at noon. Arrangements and the Service are being held at:
Quattlebaum Funeral Home (561-832-5171)

.
Mike did not want people to wear black, come in uncomfortable ties and suits or anything thing they felt they didn’t want to wear. He wanted everyone to be comfortable. There are no rules and no judgments. Mike wanted everyone to feel welcomed and happy.
“When the bad thoughts come, open the front door and the back door and usher them out. Don’t entertain them or serve them tea”
“Be here, Be Now, the present is all we have.
This is what he would want you to remember.
