Paul Anthony Looney

Paul A. Looney passed away on February 28, 2025 surrounded by his 3 daughters, son-in law and 3 grandsons at his home in Florida. He passed quietly from a brain tumor which was diagnosed on February 17, 2025. He was born in Woburn MA. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Carol Looney, N. Palm Beach FL. He is also survived by Cheryl Whalen Canton MA, Carla and Douglas Meadows Burlington MA, Christine Nissi Framingham MA, Paul Looney Jr. Tyngsboro MA and Brian Looney Lexington MA. He is survived by 14 grandchildren, Brittany, Robert, Megan, Olivia, Douglas, Dylan, Oliver, Jack, Anna, Taylor, Paul, Jordyn, Christian and Isabella. He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren, CJ, Tony, Robby, Mackenzie, Archer, Oscar, Soren and Thomas. He is also survived by 5 sisters, 2 brothers and his partner, Romy Caprio. He grew up in Medford MA and spent time traveling between his homes in Lexington, Osterville and North Palm Beach. Paul had an amazing career. His career gave him the opportunity to travel the world. He graduated from Boston College High School and remained a strong supporter throughout the years. Paul studied Industrial Engineering at Northeastern University. His career began at Millipore Corporation opening 17 subsidiaries worldwide and he went on to many successful ventures including Chairman and CEO of Corning Costar, President and COO of Biopure, President and CEO of BioSphere Medical. He loved traveling, boating, deep sea fishing, target shooting and hosting numerous gatherings with family and friends. Paul took his last trip to Budapest which was a trip he had always wanted to take. Throughout his life he challenged himself and others to be and do their best. We will miss our father's zest for life and his amazing laugh! A service will be held in the Boston area to be announced.
