

Ruth E. Dunlap, 92, a resident of West Palm Beach Florida died on Sunday, February 15, 2015. Ruth was born on February 8, 1923 in Mercer Co., Ohio to the late Arnold Alspaugh and Ruah Clouse. Following graduation from high school, and a year of secretarial work, she married Howard Dunlap on October 18, 1942. They were both called to serve God in Christian ministry. Howard was ordained by The General Council of Christian Union denomination. Together they served 12 churches in three states and one in Ecuador. In those churches and communities she served in many capacities such as church secretary, Child Evangelism teacher, Christian Education director, and Women's Ministries coordinator.
Ruth Dunlap's life was defined by her love of family, her concern for those who hadn’t heard the gospel and her enduring call to their ministry. She will be remembered as a student of scripture, a gifted listener, and a caring and compassionate person. She touched the lives of countless people, most of all her family, with her love and wisdom throughout her life.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her two brothers, Eben and GM Alspaugh.
She is survived by her daughters, Judith K, Barr, of Dayton, OH; Joyce E. Houser and husband, Dick of Fort Wayne, IN; Jeannie A. Hochstettler and husband Bill, of West Palm Beach, FL; sons, Jerry E. Dunlap and wife, Ellen of Fort Wayne, IN; James H. Dunlap and wife, Michelle of West Palm Beach, FL; twelve grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren as well as her sister, Joy Steele of Decatur, Indiana.
Visitation at Quattelbaum Funeral Home, 5411 Okeechobee Blvd, West Palm Beach, on Friday, February 20, 6 to 8 pm. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 21, beginning with lunch at 1pm in Dunlap Hall of Palms West Alliance Church, 16401 Southern Blvd., Loxahatchee, FL 33470. Sharing a hot meal meant love and acceptance to our mother.
