I had the pleasure of being Gladys’s hairstylist for 20+yrs. We talked about everything and anything mostly about family. How she adored all of her children and grandchildren. Many stories of life achievements and sorrows. Gladys was always sharp as a tack polite, quick witted, and funny . She was an absolute pleasure to have her as a client but more so we were friends. I loved talking with her and sharing stories. I would always get her talking about how things were when she was young. “ The Old Days” I loved that. Gladys would always tell me I gave her the “ Best permanent ever ! She always wore a beautiful pin , I liked to complement her on . I thought of her this morning and decided to search her name. To my sadness I found this obituary. I wasn’t surprised to see she lived to be 100 years old because she was always as strong as a horse . There was no holding Gladys down. She loved her independence. I will miss knowing she’s not on this earth with us any longer. The world was blessed with her in it. I wish more people could be like Gladys was., A genuine ,beautiful ,considerate loving person. Rest In Peace Gladys and enjoy your walks with Jesus. Sincerely, Marie Boncal

I've met gram in lake placid 20 yrs ago.. I'm pleased to had that opportunity and love of thee Mcdonald family w/ Open arms and welcoming!
In passing times, I've got the pleasure of taking Gram shopping, post office, & bank. Also stopping at Arbys for lunch..
One day, Grams vehicle was also stolen, house was robbed.. So heartbroken & sad! As I were leaving for work, a car had went by were Joe & our family lived. Lord behold, I knew this was her car. Talking to Joe, he said that didnt sound like Grams plate number. I knew this was her car riding right down the street., I've driven her in it many times. Yup, it was indeed her car. Noone was ever charged with this.. Gram had thanked me for years...
I've made my presents to visit her at Jewish Community in Rochester. Right up to the week before, her passing.. I loved her as my own Gram!! R.i.p Beautiful!! She will forever be in my heart!!

Grandma Joe was such a special person to me. She treated me like one of her grandkids even before Kristin and I got married. I’ve had more years with her as my grandmother than some of my own biological grandparents, and she has been a blessing to me and our family. There are so many memories over the last 26 years that I knew her… Great conversations, wonderful food, Upwards games, eating out at Ted’s hots, family reunions, trips to Disney and other places, roosters…so many roosters…

She always made time for her kids, grandkids, great grandkids, and so many others. She really did have a special relationship with everyone. Gram was so kind when my mother passed away, always having nice things to say about her every time I saw her afterward. She also never failed to praise me or my family every time we saw her.

Gram was so much fun, but also a strong, resilient, and a clearly healthy woman for a long time (100!). She was a role model in so many ways. I wish I had the chance to know Grandpa Joe, but I’m grateful for knowing Gram – and happy that she’s now with Jesus, with her husband, younger daughter, and other family and friends

Our family knew your Mom and Grandma as “Sis”. For years, I did not know her given name. Sis was a lifelong friend of my husband’s Aunt Marg, We regularly heard about all the activities in your family. We loved having her come to London as she was so much fun, interested in life and a story teller extraordinaire! We enjoyed visiting her in Buffalo. Sis loved you all so much. How wonderful for all of you to have had her in your lives and for Sis to have had such a loving family. Sis will live forever in our hearts!

Dear Gail and family,
It was a true blessing to have Gladys in my life. She always did things her way and you always knew where you stood with Gladys.
Our daily talks about her life, children, grand children and always a joke, had become part of my favorite part of my day.
I will always have a piece of Gladys with me.
I hope you, her family and friends find peace and know that she will always be with you.
