Our beloved Amie (Amos) Delobel passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026, age 73, surrounded by loved ones.
He was born on September 5, 1952, to Alois A. Delobel and Theresa Orillo in Montpellier, France. They came to the U.S. in 1958 where he later graduated from Granite High School in 1971.
He worked hard his entire life providing for his family and children who were his greatest joy. He would do anything for those he loved. Amos enjoyed being outdoors, especially caring for his yard and roses. He loved holidays, with Christmas being his favorite. Every year, he decorated his home with over 500 hundred lights and hosted family gatherings. He also enjoyed dressing up for Halloween as Santa while passing out candy canes and candy apple suckers.
He was known for his humor, big smile, and playful spirit. He was the life of the party always dancing or removing his dentures to scare the little ones looking like Popeye just to see everyone laugh, which made him feel amazing. He gave handmade birthday cards to his children/ grandchildren with his famous drawings. Amos was a lifelong, die-hard fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
Amos is survived by his loving children, Mike Garcia (Misty), Alisha Delobel, Gary Delobel (Melissa), Angela Delobel, Patrick Shamy and Amos Delobel; his partner of 24 years, Jacklyn Kaighn; her children, Christine Cowdell, Melinda Barlow (Edmund), Crystal Cowdell, Dawn Cowdell (Mike), Donny Cowdell, Lynette Humphrey (Bill); 37 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren; Siblings Carmen Sott (Delobel), Alan Delobel, Joe Delobel, Claude Delobel. He proceeds in death by both his parents Alois Delobel and Theresa Orillo; stepson Brandon Garcia; mother-in-law Luella Wakefield and his five animals and many other loved ones.
A special thanks to his providers and nurse staff at the Huntsman Cancer Center ICU that got the chance to interact with Amos and help through this difficult time. We appreciate you all.
