The dash between those dates encompasses the life of a beloved son, brother, uncle, husband, Papa, Opa, great-Opa, and friend that was lived to the fullest.
Alfred passed on to his next adventure on December 27, 2021. He was born in Ebstorf, Germany on September 26, 1933, to Friedrich Wilhelm August Schulze and Charlotte Pirente.
Alfred and his family immigrated from Germany to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1966. He was a people-magnet who loved everyone he knew and made friends easily. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and served in many callings, including Bishop and his favorite position of Scout Master. Alfred worked for Maxfield’s Candy company for most of his adult years and was known to the children as the Candy Man, as he always had candy in his pocket. He was a hard worker who could fix any machine set before him. He loved working with his hands and his grandchildren have fond memories of the wonderful toys that he crafted for each of them.
Alfred was preceded in death by his wife Waldtraut Emmy Clara Schulze and is survived by his 2nd wife Jane Marie Schulze, his daughters Waltraut Hamilton and Gisela Bruehl (Steve), his grandchildren Thomas Potter (Noel), Troy Potter (Jenna), Tina Hicks (Jake) Kody Pahl, Crystal Pahl, Brandi Mancuso (Richie) and Alex Pahl, along with many great grandchildren.
Due to concerns for Covid and the many family members living out of state and country, there will be no service at this time. “What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes part of us.” Helen Keller
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.ValleyViewFuneral.com for the Schulze family.
