On February 14, 2022, Bobbie was called home to the loving arms of our Heavenly Father after a hard fought and courageous battle with cancer. It had been 3 years to the day that she was told that she only had weeks to live.
Bobbie was born October 15, 1980, in Bountiful Utah, to Mike and Jinnie Edgar who reside in West Bountiful, where she grew up with her brother (Kelly Edgar). Bobbie enjoyed playing softball, dancing, riding dirt bikes and 4 wheelers, and barrel racing. She was very serious about school. As a young girl she would “practice doing homework” during summer vacations! She graduated from Bountiful High School in 1999, then attended Weber State University for 2 years. As a new mom, and while working full time she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Human Services Management, from the University of Phoenix.
She married the love of her life and soul mate Robert Marty Bennett on September 8th, 2001. Together they have 3 wonderful daughters, Autumn, Brooke and Bailey. Bobbie worked for the State of Utah, Division of Disability Determination for 20 years where she was promoted through multiple roles, and ultimately becoming the Medical Professional Relations Officer. Bobbie loved working for the state and loved the people she worked with both inside and outside of the agency.
Bobbie’s favorite thing in life and greatest accomplishment was being a mother. She taught her girls to love God, to be strong, independent and to work hard to achieve their goals. All 3 girls are accomplished competitive volleyball players. Bobbie loved traveling to tournaments with them all over the country. She was their biggest cheerleader.
Bobbie was proud of her husband Rob, as he pursued his ambition to become a Lutheran Pastor. She supported him every step of the way. She was beautiful, spunky, confident, driven, determined, independent and could be just a little crazy sometimes. When she walked into a room, people noticed. She loved going to the Ballet, the Theatre and getting dressed up in nice clothes and fancy jewelry. But on the other hand, she loved being outdoors, riding 4 wheelers, golfing and snowmobiling. She accompanied the family on many hunting trips. She loved her family so much that she would go anywhere with them. When she was at home she would wear Rob's T-shirts, hoodies and socks.
Through her battle with cancer Bobbie had an intense desire and determination to live to see her girls grow up. She fought hard to drive and walk again. She was an inspiration to all as she went from wheelchair to walker to cane. As the cancer spread it was her faith in Christ that kept her going, knowing that someday she would be whole again.
The family would like to thank Huntsman Cancer Institute, Neuroworx Physical Therapy, and CNS Home Health and Hospice for their amazing and loving care and service. Also, sincere gratitude for their Lutheran family, friends and neighbors who provided endless support, encouragement, love, meals, and loving service.
Survived by her loving husband Robert, daughters Autumn (17), Brooke and Bailey (12). Michael and Jinnie Edgar (parents), Brother Kelly Edgar (Jennifer), niece Taylor Suarez Edgar, nephews Matthew Suarez, and Kole Edgar. Tim and Patty Bennett (mother-and father-in-law), Brother-in-Law Tim Bennett (Amanda), nieces Brittany and Savanna, and nephew TJ. Many cousins, aunts and uncles.
