Barbara was born on April 27, 1929 to Cecil and Elizabeth Brown in Salt Lake City, Utah. She met and married her sweetheart, Jack Lee Bowers, in 1947. Together they raised three sons: Jack, Steven, and Larry.
Barbara was a wonderful cook and homemaker. She took great pride in creating delicious meals for her family and making sure her home was always a welcoming and comfortable place to be. There was always room for one more at her table.
Barbara had endless energy and enthusiasm for life. She enjoyed camping and cookouts, fourth of July family reunions and fireworks, baking homemade pies and jams, and her annual family Christmas breakfast. Her three boys were the light of her life. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when they needed her.
Above all, she was a devoted grandmother who adored her grandchildren. Some of their most cherished memories of her include sleepovers at her house with pancake men for breakfast, playing dress up, card games, running around the house, and playing zoo under her kitchen table. Most importantly, she was playing right alongside them the entire time, probably having even more fun than they were.
Barbara is having a long awaited reunion with her parents, her sweet husband, and her brothers and sisters whom she absolutely adored and missed terribly.
She is survived by her three sons, seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter who will always remember her as a fun, devoted, and loving mother and grandmother.
Barbara’s memory will live on through the countless lives she touched and the love she shared with all who knew her.
A graveside service will be held at Valley View Memorial Park (4400 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah) on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 11:00am.
