Benny Lawrence Rasmussen, age 85, of Roy, Utah passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Benny was born on June 18, 1935 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Beatrice Ellen Dimmock and Raymond Leroy Rasmussen. Benny attended school in Azusa, California and later joined the Navy. Benny married Margaret Rose Newman on October 10, 1958 in Salt Lake City and later were sealed in the Salt Lake City temple.
Benny loved dogs, German Shepherds were his favorite, he did Obedience Training with them. He loved fishing, camping and being outdoors. He loved BYU football and going to the games with his grandsons. Growing up he played in school band and marched in the Rose Bowl parade. And last but not least, he loved their cat "Gray Cat".
Benny is survived by his wife Margaret; children Carrie (David) McIlrath, Robert Rasmussen and Darrell (Michelle) Rasmussen; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
Benny is preceded in death by brothers Ray D. Rasmussen, Harry A. Rasmussen, Leslie L. Rasmussen and sister Alice May Griffiths.
Viewing will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2021 from 10:30-11:30 AM at the LDS church building 3276 Hillsdale Drive. Funeral services will follow immediately at Noon.
