Charles Chapman Bruce passed away Friday, April 20, 2012 in Magna, Utah. He was born to Walter and Bess Bruce on October 26, 1921 in Antlers, Oklahoma. Charles attended Globe High School in Globe, Arizona and graduated in 1939. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII and then moved to San Bernardino.
On June 10, 1950 he married Betty C. Bruce in San Bernardino, California. He worked as an aircraft mechanic and later as a missile quality control inspector, working at Hill AFB and at Hercules in Magna. He lived at his house in Magna for 45 years. Charles enjoyed working on cars, fixing up his house, carpentry, smoking his pipe and contemplating the universe. He had a great sense of humor, was very quick-witted and easy going. He was a great husband, father and grandfather.
Survived by his son: Timothy Charles Bruce (Anita), grandchildren: Ross I. Romero (Cecilia), Marie Saunders (Matthew), Ashley Bruce and his great grandchildren: Marcus, Marcela, Everett and Ava.
Preceded in death by his Wife.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday April 25, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Valley View Memorial Park and Mortuary, 4335 West 4100 South, where there will be a viewing from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. one hour prior to the services. Condolences may be sent to the family through www.valleyviewfuneral.com.
