

1934 – 2016
Our beautiful mother, Cleo Ziska Tucker passed away peacefully in her sleep Wednesday morning, April 13, 2016. She was born in La Puente, New Mexico on October 12, 1934 to Tranquilino and Rosa Valdez. Married the love of her life, Alfred Charles Ziska on February 18, 1952 in New Mexico. They moved to Lakewood, Ohio and then to Salt Lake City in 1959. Cleo had an extraordinary mothering instinct and her life revolved around her family. She was a devout Catholic and devoted to God and her family, she sang in the Spanish choir of Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Our mom loved dancing, shopping at the thrift stores, lunches and visiting with her friends, watching the birds in her yard, flowers, her cat Sophie, traveling to New Mexico and Las Vegas,spending time with her family and talking on the phone or spending time with her dearest friend, "Dottie".
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Alfred Charles Ziska; brother, Tranquilino (Chuckie) Valdez; sister, Carol Gutierrez; and grandson Kevin Benglan. She married Phillip Lee Tucker in February of 1997 in West Valley City, Utah.
She is survived by her children, Diana Ziska (Nancy Lowry), Charles (Sharmin) Ziska, Matthew (Christina) Ziska; sisters, Elsie Velarde and Lucy Valdez;, grandchildren, Justin, Jacob, Jonah, Noah, Kyle; great granddaughter Abbey.
We’d like to thank the staff at Hazen Care Center for the loving care they provided to our dear mother. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Services will be held Wednesday, April 20 at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 3560 West 3650 South West Valley Utah at 11:00am with viewing one hour prior. Viewing to be held on Tuesday, April 19th from 6pm – 7pm and Rosary from 7pm – 8pm at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah. Interment at Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 West 410 South, West Valley City, Utah.
