

She was born on September 26, 1938, in Acatic, Jalisco, Mexico, to Refugio Gomez Ponce and Maria Gonzalez Cervantes.
She arrived in the United States in 1960. She married Alejandro Duran, and together they raised their daughter, Glafira Duran Condas. They later divorced.
On June 13, 1981, she married Takeo Shigihara. Together, they lived a life of faith. They were members of the Assembly of God Church, Iglesia Viva.
She spent her life devoted to God, always a steady presence at Iglesia Viva, her home church. Her Pentecostal faith shaped every part of her life, and she boldly spoke of her Savior.
She loved gathering with friends at the Midvale and Murray Senior Centers. One of her many talents was her cooking, which she enjoyed sharing with family and friends. Her gifted hands created many beautiful cross-stitch projects.
She loved to travel and was blessed to see many parts of the country and the world. A few things that brought her joy were fishing, classic black-and-white movies, and her love of dancing.
Concha is survived by her daughter, Glafira Duran Condas; her grandchildren, Anthony (Jessaca) Condas and Rossanne (Jason) Lundberg; and her great-grandchildren, Kalia and Myles Condas, and Gabby and Luke Lundberg. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the love of her life.
She is also survived by her sisters, Carmen Rivera and Maria G. Rosas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Takeo Shigihara; her brother, Ignacio Gomez-Gonzalez; her sister, Maria Refugio Gomez Gonzalez; and her son-in-law, Peter H. Condas.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Iglesia Viva, 1055 N Redwood Road, Salt Lake City, at 10:00 a.m. The service will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by a procession to Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, for the burial.
The family invites all family and friends to attend a luncheon in her honor at Iglesia Viva, 1055 N Redwood Road, Salt Lake City, Utah.
