

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, David Floyd Colvin passed away March 11, 2022, at the age of 84. He was born in Park City, Utah to Emma Nelson Lemon and Frank Colvin. He married his sweetheart Gladys Defa on September 25, 1959. On March 26, 1976 they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They were married 62 years before her passing in September of 2021. Together they had four children.
Dad joined the US Army at 17 years old and retired with 42 years of service after receiving many medals and commendations. He was active in the LDS church and served as Bishop of the Granger 6th ward. He was an avid outdoorsman and always loved hunting, fishing and camping. He was a skilled mechanic and loved working on and restoring cars. After he retired, he bought houses and fixed them up for rentals. All his renters loved him. He was a very hard worker and spent his life supporting and caring for his family. He spent many years being the main caregiver of his beloved wife during her health struggles. He will be greatly missed.
He is welcomed home by his wife; son Chuck; brother Charles and his parents who preceded him in death.
He is survived by children: Robyn (Scott) Martin, Tonja (Greg) Dawes, Darrin (Paula) Colvin. Grandchildren: Lindsey (Jeff), Tyson (Megan), Brittney (Anthony), Haley (Josh), Tanner (Nancy), Chandler and Carley. Also 9 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 19th at 11AM with a viewing prior at 9:30AM-10:45AM at Valley View Memorial Park & Funeral Home 4335 W. 4100 S West Valley City, Utah 84120
