Deborah Lynn Ranson

Deborah “Debbie” Lynn Ranson, beloved mother, wife, stepmother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away on January 14th, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones in her home in West Valley City, Utah.

Debbie was born to Arvin and Barbara Selander on September 20th, 1959, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and graduated from East High School in 1977. Debbie worked for Delton Lanes in West Valley City, Utah, for 26 years. She took pride in her work, and everyone who met her fell in love with her immediately. She even met the love of her life there, Thomas “Tom” Nelson Ranson, who she married on May 6th, 2002, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Debbie and Tom were inseparable and did everything together from road trips to watching football, bowling, and gambling. Debbie was an avid dolphin collector and loved her A&E. She loved her dogs and is now with her sweet pitbull Phoenix, and her loving maltese poodle Gizmo will miss her dearly.

Debbie was the life of the party. She would light up the room as soon as she entered. She was bubbly and loving. She took pride in being a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved spending time with all her grandkids and enjoyed the quality family time any chance she could.

Debbie is survived by her husband Tom, two daughters Brandy (Brandon) Randall and Misty Kofford, step-daughter Michelle (Josh) Brewster, 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, her brother Arve (Marylou) Selander, and several nieces and nephews.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents Arvin and Barbara, her father-in-law and mother-in-law Matt and Mickey Ranson, her brothers Red, Donny, and Harry, and her sister Penny.

Debbie leaves a hole in our family that can never be filled. She is now rejoicing with her beloved mother and sister.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Serenity Hospice and Sarah (RN), Clara (CNA), Caysie (Social Worker), and the entire medical team that has been here for support for Debbie.

A Viewing will be held at Valley View Funeral Home on January 23rd, 2025 6 pm - 8 pm. Funeral Services will be held at the same location on January 24th, 2025 11 am - 12 pm with an Open House an hour prior.
