Douglas Charles Burwell was born January 3, 1968 in Vancouver, Washington, the 4th of 6 children, of James R. and Barbara C. Burwell. While growing up, Doug's family moved often taking him to Oregon, Idaho, Texas and Arizona. Doug served a LDS mission in the California Ventura Mission from 1988-1990. After his mission he attended school at Utah Valley College. He married the love of his life, JoBeth Fackrell, on August 2, 1997 in the Jordan River Temple, they were blessed with 2 children, Brayden and Kassondra. He was so proud of them. He and his family were living in West Valley City, but also spent time living in different parts of the Salt Lake Valley and Shelley, Idaho. Doug loved sports and was an avid basketball player and softball player most often as pitcher. His memory was amazing when it came to sports stats and players. He was a big BYU sports fan and stayed up on BYU Football and Basketball. All that knew Doug recognized his quick wit and joking personality. He made everyone feel comfortable and had such a big heart. He dealt with many health challenges, but handled them with grace and, of course, a little defiance. That part of his personality came from his Dad, who preceded him in death. Doug is survived by wife, JoBeth, children Brayden and Kassi, mother Barbara Burwell, siblings Scott (Tonya), Rebecca (Rob) Jacobs, Jeffrey, Andrew (Ingrid) and Allyson (Thayne) Warner.
