Elia was married to the love of her life, David, on October 6th 1957. They spent 65 happy years together. She loved gardening, making flour tortillas once a week, and tamales during the holidays. Elia also loved spending time with her family; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a special place in her heart. Elia had a deep love for traveling and helping others. Elia was a foster parent for 16 years, during which time she cared for over 65 children.
Elia is survived by her beloved husband David, children David (Leslie), Dariel, Duane a.k.a Chris (Caroline), and Deborah (John). Elia is also survived by her sister Evagelina Marroquin, 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Elia is preceded in death by her parents Brigido Cabrera and Antonia Garza.
There will be a Celebration of Life held for Elia on January, 27th at 11:00 am at Valley View Funeral Home, located at 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City. Interment will be at Valley View Memorial Park following the celebration of life.
