

George always had a positive attitude, a great sense of humor, and a devotion to his family, friends, and his Savior. He was loved and adored by all. His influence and example will always be remembered.
He was born January 5, 1934, in Ephraim, Utah to George Ray Paulsen and Helga Mae Peterson. He was the oldest of five children.
When he was young, he always had a joke up his sleeve and was always looking for someone to share it with.
George served a proselyting mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Southern States Mission from 1955 – 1957. It was there that he became known as the “Walking Bible”.
George graduated from Snow College and Brigham Young University.
George married his sweetheart, Reva Jones, on June 3, 1960, in the Manti Temple. They were blessed with four children.
George loved the gospel and thoroughly enjoyed working as a seminary teacher. His seminary teaching took him to East Carbon High, Cyprus High, and Kearns High. He then worked as an accountant for the Seminaries & Institute Department.
After receiving his Master’s degree in counseling & guidance from Brigham Young University, he began working as a social worker for the State of Utah, spending ten of those years in Blanding, Utah.
In his retirement years he was able to return once again to his love of teaching the gospel as a seminary teacher for the Special Needs.
George served faithfully in the church. He served in three Bishoprics, including serving as Bishop of the Hunter 9th Ward from 1978 to 1982.
George loved sports and enjoyed playing ball with his children. He was an avid BYU fan. He was also very competitive, especially when it came to playing ping pong, croqenos, and Rook!
Preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, David Paulsen, and Dick Paulsen, and granddaughter Kasey Ann Paulsen.
He is survived by his wife, Reva. Sister, Cherrie Dolphin. Brother, Jerry Paulsen. His four children, Ray (Sheri) Paulsen, Lynette (Michael) Fox, Jim (Krystal) Paulsen, Scott (Jenifer) Paulsen. Fourteen grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held Friday, November 29th from 6pm – 8pm at the Hunter 9th Ward building. Located at 7035 W Loch Ness Avenue (3605 south) in West Valley City. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 30th at 1pm with a viewing prior to from 11:30am – 12:45pm at the Hunter 9th Ward building located at 7035 W Loch Ness Avenue (3605 south) in West Valley City.
