She was born October 14, 1945 in Manchester, England to Alan Smith and Emma (Crook) Smith. She married Jerry Murphy on October 9, 1982 in Hayward, California.
Carole was a great mother, grandmother, wife and soulmate. She loved to cook and was a conversationalist and story teller. She and Jerry enjoyed traveling and seeing the world together.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry; sons, Nicholas (Cheryl) Laine, Mark (Georgina) Laine; grandchildren, Sarah Laine, Ryan Laine, and Emily Laine; brothers, Nigel (Stewart) Smith, Alan Smith.
Preceded in death by her parents, Alan and Emma Smith.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Martin de Porres Parish, 4914 South 2200 West, Salt Lake City, Utah.
