

Joan was born on August 7, 1946, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the youngest of 5 children born to Kenneth and Rayola Holdaway.
On May 5, 1961, Joan married her best friend and eternal companion, Harold Jacobson. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
Together they raised 5 children. they were married for 48 years, until Harold passed in 2009.
Joan truly loved the gospel, and she had a strong testimony of our savior's love. together Joan and Harold had the opportunity to serve 2 missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. One in Gualala, California and the other in Bondi Junction, Sydney Australia. She absolutely loved serving others, and she enjoyed her time as a missionary.
Joan and Harold had a very strong bond, they were always together. In addition to their missionary service, they served as temple workers for many years in the Jordan River Temple. She served in various church callings over the years.
Joan loved cooking and being a caretaker. She was always willing to give of her time and she was a source of comfort and strength to her family and friends, and a wonderful homemaker. Joan also enjoyed helping Harold with projects and tasks around the house. She made a large positive impact on everyone who knew her. Especially her family. She will be deeply missed.
Joan is survived by her children, Cindy (Marty) Wilcox, Christy (Nick) Mitchell, Carrie (Dan) Price, Steven Jacobson, and Cheri Jacobson.
Her brother Tom (Marilyn) Holdaway and her sister Bonnie (Gary) Greenburg, 18 Grandchildren, and 25 Great Grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her loving husband, Harold Jacobson and 2 Brothers, Kenny and Larry Holdaway.
