

1949-2014
Larry Haskell passed away May 10th, 2014. He was born March 3, 1949 in Salt Lake City to parents Orvis and Dorothy Haskell.
At age eight Larry contracted polio. He was in the hospital for six weeks, and homeschooled for another six weeks. Upon his recovery he returned to the second grade at the old Webster school in Magna. Graduated from Cyprus High School. Proudly served in the US Army. Employed by Kennecott Copper for many years. At the time of his death, he was employed by Doug Andrus Distributing.
Married Jolene Romano, together they had two children. Later divorced but remained friends.. Married Mary Simister and together they enjoyed many years and made lasting memories until his passing.
Larry was a truly genuine and caring person. He spent many hours volunteering at the VA Hospital and homeless shelters. We will miss him everyday until we meet again.
Survived by his mother, wife Mary. Children: Chad (Christie) Haskell, Lisa Myers, David Simister, and Marlene Mckendrick. Grandchildren: Lindsie, Trey, Brayden, Jazmyne, Josie, Jedd, and Avery, who affectionately called her grandpa “Yo Yo” . Brother Dee (Terri) Barnes, sister Marlene Cavanee. Many nieces,nephews, aunts and uncles.
Preceded in death by his father, niece Michelle Cavanee , brother- in- law Dan Cavanee, and son- in- law Steve Myers.
Graveside services will be held Friday, May 16th at 12:00 PM at Valley View Memorial Park 4400 West 4100 South WVC, UT. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to The Road Home.
