Lon Elwood returned home to our Heavenly Father on November 12, 2014 doing what he loved---Scouting.He was born on March 2, 1953 to Harold and Patricia Elwood. He attended Jordan High School and after graduation joined the National Guard. He loved his family and enjoyed vacationing, family game night, Scouting and rock hounding with them. He married Diane Wright on March 3, 1973, later solemnized in the Jordan River Temple on September 10, 1990. They were blessed with 4 wonderful children, Tina, Kristie, Jared (Tawnya) and Aaron (Becky) and 8 beautiful grandchildren. He worked for Harland Clarke as a press operator for 39 years.Preceded in death by his parents and brother in law, Dale. Survived by his sisters, DeanNa, Kada (Randy) and Nona (Jack).In lieu of flowers, please donate in his memory to the James E West fund with the Boy Scouts of America.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at the Hunter 4th Ward, 7035 W. Lochness Ave., West Valley City, Utah. Visitations will be from 6-8 p.m. on Monday evening at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State St., Midvale, Utah and 1 hour prior to the funeral services, at the church.
