Lora M. Farnsworth

1917~2014

Lora Madsen Farnsworth, 97 passed away on December 19, 2014 in West Valley City, Utah. She was born on November 6, 1917 in Castle Gate, Utah to Charles Henry Madsen and Zina Matilda Christensen. She attended Carbon High School. She married Gial Alma Farnsworth on June 16, 1937 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Lora was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. She taught Blazer scouts, was a Girl Scout Leader, and a Campfire Girls Leader. She taught in all three auxiliary organizations of the church. She enjoyed bowling in a league, playing archery, swimming, and fishing, especially at Fish Lake.

Lora is survived by her daughter; Susanne F. Park, Siblings; Mildred Heaston, Charlene Horsley (Ed), Charley Madsen (Diane), Mary Chandler (Don), Clifford Madsen (Mary), Kaye Petty, Stan Madsen (Janice), Carolyn Chamberlain (Sam) and Robert Madsen (Marcia), three Grandchildren, nine Great Grandchildren and two Great Great Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gial, two sisters Myrtle and Jo, son-in-law Dennis, and two brothers-in-law Leonard and George.

Services will be held on Monday, December 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Valley View Ward, 5180 W. 4700S. West Valley City. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Interment at Tooele City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.valleyviewfuneral.com.
