She Married Melvin C. Isbell on March 12, 1945 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Later they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple.
Derelle loved to putter away time in her garden, especially with her award winning irises. She could sew anything; a skill that came in handy many times in her life. She even sewed her daughters' formal dresses and a wedding dress worn by two of her daughters. She loved a lot of things in this life, but most of all she loved her family, whether she was “bumming around” with her sisters, or taking her family back into her home in their time of need.
Due to her sweetheart’s poor health, she worked to help support the family as a waitress at Town and Country. She was very proud of that. After her husband Mel’s death, she was able to devote more time to genealogy research and temple work. She was the happiest as a temple worker, serving in the Jordan River Temple as an ordinance worker and veil worker.
Derelle is survived by four children, Minette Brakey, Randy (Shawn Christensen) Isbell, Candy Isbell and Jill (Mike) Bromley; and her sister Lynnell (Mel) Preece; Thirteen grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Mel; son, Andrew; daughter, Holly Gervol; son-in-law, John Brakey; her parents; brothers, Kaye and Roy; and her sister, Janiel.
The family would like to thank all who helped care for Derelle, especially her daughter Candy, Neighbors Lee and Rena and the Nurses and Staff at Avalon West Rehabilitation and Health.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 12 noon with a visitation one hour prior to the service at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah.
