Minnette Rhoads

1923 ~ 2014

Minnette Jene Ashren Rhoads, Age 91, passed away on May 29, 2014 in SLC Utah. She will be remembered as a devoted wife and a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend.

Minnette was born April 20, 1923 in Kansas City, KS to Charles Franklin and Helen Anna Hoggatt Ashren. She married Jack Edward Rhoads on Jan 9, 1948. She had four children who she raised and loved with all of her heart.

Minnette served faithfully in her church and Gideons. She held many positions, serving them well. Her church and her faith were very important to her.

Urging people, when she had the chance, of the need for salvation. Her love of people is what held her close to many people’s hearts.

Mom had many adventures and successes in her life- learned to fly a plane

(and owning one), became a RN, excellent organist (playing for weddings, funerals and church) and getting her bachelor’s degree. Mom loved to travel and camp with Dad, getting away whenever they could.

Mom had a zest for life and became very sad at the end of her life that she wasn’t able to go and do as her mind was telling her to.

She will be greatly missed and treasured, holding a special place in our hearts forever.

She is survived by Susan Mecham, Pat (Roger) Orn, Ed Rhoads and

Karl ( Lisa) Rhoads. She had six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

A big thank you to all who helped make this last year of her life memorable. To all the staff at Golden Living and Garden Terrace Rehab- you were awesome. We couldn’t have asked for more caring people.

There will be a viewing on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 from 10:00-10:30 at Valley View Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 at Valley View Memorial Park.
