NgocYen T Tran

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on May 5, 2013. NgocYen was born on December 18, 1935 to father Xuat V. Tran and mother Cuc T. Huynh in Vietnam. For 62 years she was happily married to Buon Van Nguyen.

NgocYen grew up in Vietnam, lived through the Vietnam War and later leaving everything she knew, immigrated to the United States eventually becoming an American citizen.

Those who knew NgocYen were often impressed by her quiet grace, loving smile, and charitable ways. She loved to provide for her family; a talented seamstress who often made clothes for her grandchildren when she heard they needed something new to wear.

NgocYen loved to cook, especially for friends and family. She enjoyed company and would make elegant meals which, at times, took days to prepare. Those who were fortunate enough to enjoy her cooking often gave praise of how beautiful and delicious the food was.

She loved to travel and enjoyed seeing new places. Some of her most cherished memories were spent traveling with her children and grandchildren.

Most of all NgocYen loved her family. She raised eight beautiful daughters. She was proud of who they were and what they were able to accomplish. Her grandchildren will alway remember her beautiful smile and loving ways. She loved her husband and he loved her. They were always together.

It was an honor to know her and she will be dearly missed.

NgocYen was preceded in death by her parents. Her children: KimLoan Thi and Lynn Isaacs, Lisa (Phuong) and Wayne Isaacs, Hoa T. Nguyen and Moc P. Ly, My N. Nguyen and Long V. Luong, Michelle (Dung) Nguyen and Minh Pham, Hanh T. and Tuan Nguyen, Hieu T. and Ha Minh Nguyen, and Natalie (Ngoc) T. and Bao Nguyen.

Her grandchildren: Jason and Mary Jane Isaacs, Jerome and Aubrey Isaacs, MocQue and Dung Le, Steven, Nathan, Kevin, Nicholas, Matthew, Tina (MInh Tu) and Han Ton That, Timothy, Bryan, Patrick, Hana, Eric, and Christy.

Her great grandchildren: Conner, Jordan, Briana, Shaylyn, Arjuna, Denali, Justin, Katie, and Jaden.

A viewing will be held Thursday, May 9, from 4:00 - 8:00pm, Friday, May 10, from 4:00 - 9:00pm, and Saturday, May 11, from 8:30 - 9:30am at Valley View Memorial Park & Funeral Home.
