Patricia Ann Scherzinger

Patricia was born on November 7, 1946, in Nassawadox, Northampton, Virginia. She graduated from Burley High School, Burley Idaho in 1968. She married her first husband in 1965 and later divorced in 1977. Together they had 4 children. She married her second husband, Michael, in 1978 and had one child together. Pat had the opportunity to work a variety of jobs including a sock hop waitress, café line cook, and secretary at Salt Lake Hardware.

She was an avid Genealogist for the majority of her life. She was always surrounded by her research and volunteered innumerable hours in various Family History libraries. She loved to share her discoveries and was very proud of her ancestors’ stories. She authored two genealogical research books and several smaller publications. She was considered a subject matter expert by many people across the country and around the world of various genealogical studies.

Her favorite things included family gatherings, decorating her home, adding pieces to her collectables, celebrating holidays, watching Young and the Restless, and listening to music, especially Elvis.

Patricia is survived by her husband, Michael Rudy Scherzinger, sister Debbie Ondler (Don), brother Bill Dudley ( ) and her children Troy Coleman (Kari), Stephanie Powell (Jackie), Melissa Young (David), and Michelle Sweet, 10 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her mother, “Jerry”, her sister and her brother-in-law, Sandra and Frank Beabout, and her daughter, Monica Jerriann Coleman.

A funeral will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4270 South Falcon Street, S 4145 W, West Valley City, UT 84120, followed by the burial at Valley View Mortuary 4335 West 4100 South West Valley City, UT 84120 on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 11:00am with a viewing at the church from 10:00-10:45am before the funeral.
