He was the second child of four, born to Lewis Wade and Beverly Slack Pierce on September 4th, 1978 in Salt Lake City, UT.
Paul was an outgoing guy his entire life, and thrived off being the center of attention. His "Kryptonite" was when anyone didn't think he was funny.
Paul was a lifelong football fan, and despite their recent poor performance, loved the Chicago Bears. Paul played Little League football, and went on to play Center for the Hunter High Wolverines. He briefly dabbled in the dramatic arts, charming audiences as a knight in an otherwise forgettable junior high play. He later made his Hunter High classmates laugh with his spot-on impression of his comedy idol, Chris Farley, specializing in the coffee table-smashing Matt Foley.
Paul married his high school sweetheart, Jody Wilde, in June of 2001. They later divorced. From their marriage came Paul's greatest joy, his son Mayson Paul Pierce. Although Mayson resembles his mom's family physically, in both spirit and personality, he's all Paul.
Paul worked for many years as a Water Technician for both Jordan Valley and South Salt Lake water districts. He spent his time fixing water line breaks and spearheading innumerable shenanigans.
Paul met "his girl" Suzy Tranter (nèe Lindbloom) in early 2024, and they were so madly in love with each other they were engaged by summertime. Their passionate love affair was tragically cut short when Suzy suddenly died on November 12th, 2025. Suzy's death shattered Paul. He was left devastated and brokenhearted, and he joined Suzy only eighteen days later.
Not unlike all of us, Paul had his demons. His addictions overpowered his gregarious personality and his well-known sense of humor. In recent years he had begun to win his battles with addiction, but he struggled until the end. It is a comfort to know that Paul and Suzy have been reunited, and are now both at peace.
Paul was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Wade Pierce; both sets of grandparents; and his beloved Suzy. He is survived by his son, Mayson Paul Pierce; his mother Beverly Pierce; his brothers, David Pierce, and Robert “Pibby" (Jenny) Pierce; his sister, Heather (Tyler) Timothy; his nephews Marty Timothy and Leo Pierce; his nieces Liv Pierce and Eliza Timothy; as well as many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends who loved him very much.
Special thanks to his great friends Troy Turner, Dr. Jared Tyson, and Reggie Wilson, for always being there for Paul.
