Our cherished and loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother (GG), Sister, and Friend, passed away peacefully in Taylorsville, Utah on Monday, July 28, 2025 . She was born in Magna, Utah on August 19, 1935, to William J Henline and Lillie Iola Patrick. She was the middle of seven siblings. Pauline grew up in Magna and Hunter, Utah (West Valley City), and also raised her family there. It was home. She attended Whittier Elementary, Brockbank Jr. High, and graduated in 1953 from Cyprus High School.
Pauline was fortunate to marry three loves in her life. John E. Lee was her high school sweetheart. They married on June 15, 1953, in the Salt Lake Temple, before he entered the Korean Conflict. They were blessed with three children before later divorcing after 30 years. Donald G. Reed was her second chance at love. They married on February 22, 1986, and were sealed in the Jordan River Temple. He brought with him children and grandchildren, and their circle grew. They spent many happy years traveling and working in the Jordan River Temple. After 10 years of marriage, she found herself alone again. In her later years, she married Gordon Dale Archibald, who was a wonderful companion. They married on January 23, 2004, and added even more members to her treasured family.
Pauline worked in retail at a young age. Her first job was operating the elevator at Auerbach’s Department Store in Salt Lake City, Utah. She then devoted her time to raising her family, working in the PTA, and holding many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 1970 the Valley Fair Mall opened, and she worked part time at JC Penney. She was an accomplished seamstress, kept an immaculate home, was a gracious hostess, and loved everyone she met. She retired from Beehive Clothing and cherished her time and friends there.
Pauline lived for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Each one was so special to her. She attended as many of their activities as she could. She had a sparkle in her beautiful blue eyes, sometimes with mischief. She was fun to be around and excited for any adventure. She had a beautiful yard filled with flowers and shade. Many happy hours were spent on her lawn swing, sharing a chat and a creamy ice cream. She was a wonderful friend and could spend hours chatting if you ran into her. She had an extraordinary talent for remembering names and would ask about you and your family by name. She was a loving Aunt and was a favorite Auntie P to many.
Pauline is survived by her children - Steve (Debbie) Lee; Tammy (Brad) Anderson; Grandchildren - Britney (Rob) Lee; Ben (KoriAnn) Anderson; Ashley Ortiz; and Tyler (Kayla) Anderson; Great-Grandchildren - Twilite, Brighton, Daven, Bristol, Parker, Kennady, Owen and Caroline; Sister - Peach (Fred) Austin; and countless others.
She outlived most of her family and friends, reaching nearly 90 years of age. She was preceded in death by her parents, five siblings, three spouses, her Great-Granddaughter Meleese, and her precious Daughter Marion, all of whom she was looking forward to reuniting with.
