He was born in Ala Mesa, CA on September 18, 1952 and spent most of his life in Salt Lake City, UT. Ray married the love of his life, Edith Elisa Smith on February 5, 1976, whom he met while serving his LDS mission in Florida. They wrote while she was attending BYU and dated soon after he returned home.
Ray and Edith have three children and six grandchildren; son, Shane Keith Steele, daughter, Rondi (Shaun) Sterzer, and grandchildren Gage, Zack and Jurnee. Daughter, Kari (Joseph Todd) Overson, and grandchildren Grayson, Zayden and Lachlan.
Ray had a passion for flying and made it his career. He flew air ambulance for both Life Flight and AirMed. Ray and Edith also had a flight school and charter operation for 18 years, which he enjoyed and made lifelong friends. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, boating, skiing, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
A Celebration of life will be held at a later date and time due to Covid-19.
