Reuben Raymond

February 28, 1933 - March 23, 2024

Reuben Frederico Raymond, born on February 28, 1933, to Ramon Romero and Dora Talamante in Dolores, Colorado, passed away on March 23, 2024. Orphaned at a young age, Reuben was raised by his grandmother. He later made his home in Utah, where he met his beloved wife, Phyllis Johnson. They exchanged vows on October 8, 1957, in Colorado, and raised four children together.

Throughout his career, Reuben dedicated himself to his work at Unisys. Outside of his professional life, he found immense joy in golfing and traveling, especially with his cherished family. Reuben was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather, finding fulfillment in sharing special moments with each generation.

His commitment to community and faith was evident through his active involvement at St. Peter and Paul parish and his membership in the Knights of Columbus. Serving others through this organization brought him deep satisfaction and purpose.

Reuben is survived by his son, Randy Raymond; his 9 grandchildren: Katrina (Michael) Goodman, Jenney (Matt) Rees, Sean (Shannon) Averett, Jeffery (Jennifer) Averett, Heather Cole, Stephen (Jennifer) Nelson, Nicholas (Anja) Nelson, Thomas (Devon) Nelson, and Tara Jones; and 22 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his three daughters, Robyn Poppel, Shaunna Jones, and Annette Nelson. His beloved wife, Phyllis, joined him in eternal rest five days after his passing.

Funeral services to celebrate Reuben's life will be held on Friday at 11:00 am at Valley View Funeral Home in West Valley City. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.
