

Our Dad, Daddy, Papa, Grandpa, Viejo, Brother and Great Grandpa passed away on May 23, 2021 surrounded by all those who loved him. Bobo was born on February 20, 1940 to Jose Acosta and Candelaria Navarro. He married his vieja, Rebecca M. Navarro on April 21, 1961 and they were married for 43 years.
He was an alumni of Weber State, Utah Tech and BYU. He retired from the Department of Corrections after 20 years of service. For nine years he coached football, Little League Baseball including American League Baseball. As a God fearing man he was a member of the Sunrise Baptist Church. He served in the Marine Corp and was a Junior and Senior Commander of VFW. He was an Atomic Coast member of the Holiday American League Post 132.
BoBo was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Acosta and Candelaria Navarro; his wife Rebecca M. Navarro; son, Francisco Colon and 14 siblings. He is survived by his son Markco A. Navarro; daughters Melisa I. Garcia (Armando), Andrella Landa (Ernesto), Kathy L. Lobato, Ana Garcia (Jose); sister, Avelina “Duka” Gomez (Rudy); 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Bobo’s favorite scripture was John 14:6. “Jesus answered I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 3 at Valley View Memorial Park located at 4400 W 4100 S, West Valley City, Utah. Per our Papa’s request no viewing or gathering will be held afterward.
Bobo’s last words to his family and friends were “Put your trust in the Lord and he will not fail you.”
