Rita Jean Meiners

1940 ~ 2012

Rita Jean Meiners, age 71, passed away in her sleep on Monday, September 3, 2012 at her home in West Valley City, Utah. She was born December 11, 1940 in Randolph, Massachusetts. The daughter of Harry Arthur Hopkins and Loretta Maud Ackerley. She has lived a long and happy life with family always close to her both physically and in her heart. She finally settled down in Salt Lake City over twenty‐five years ago surrounded by family and friends. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Rita is survived by a very large family; her daughters Barbara (Ryan), Donna (Marshall), Nancy

(Carter), Candy (Long), Cathy (Preston), Susan (Collins) and her sons John (Millar), Bruce

(Millar), Robert (Millar) and Timothy (Millar). Her grandchildren Angel, Traci, Kevin, Thomas,

Sara, Mark, Aja, Peter, Alex, Rainie, Sandra, Lora, Cindy, Brian, Richard, Adrianna, Cassandra,

Ashley, Christopher, Chrystal, Jessica, Samantha, Kayla, Michael, Sarah, Brittany, Dustin, Avery

and Asa. She was preceded in death by her son Peter Charles and her parents.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah. Friends and family may call Friday evening from 6‐8 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, and Saturday one hour prior to the services.
