A resident of Utah all his life, he served in the U.S. Naval service. Married Clare Ann DeYoung on December 10, 1960 in Elko, Nevada. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Wholly committed to each other, Bob and ClareAnn have remained sweethearts for the past 56 years. Bob grew up fishing and hunting with his dad and brother Wayne and continued those hobbies throughout his life with his children and grandchildren. He loved being outdoors and often could be found sleeping on the lawn. He loved reading the newspaper and often submitted letters to the Editor. Bob taught his children the value of hard work, not retiring himself until he was 75 years of age. He always had a smile, was friendly and willing to lend a hand to everyone he met and genuinely loved life. He was happiest when he was with his family and truly felt he needed nothing else. He was well loved and respected by everyone who knew him. Dad was a Ute’s fan “except for when they played BYU” and attended every game he could. He will be sorely missed by his family.
Preceded in death by his parents, brothers Gary and Wayne, sisters Elaine and Noreen. Survived by his wife, ClareAnn; his children: Gary, Barbara (Phil), Jay (Kathy), Elizabeth, and Anissa; He leaves a legacy of 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
