Robert L. Phillips Jr.

Bob was born May 12, 1938 to Robert Lorenzo Phillips and Edna Lucille Morris. He attended Cyprus High School and retired from Buehner Concrete Co. in 1984 where he was a maintenance foreman. Bob married Deanna M. Skinner on March 24, 1958. They had two children, Kristyne and Michael. They made their home in Magna for 43 years. He and his wife were snowbirds to Arizona for 5 years and then moved down there permanently in 2003. They enjoyed many years down there with friends.

Bob is survived by his wife Deanna, children, Kristyne (Lex) Sandstrom, Michael Gene (Tammy) Phillips; sisters, Mary (Lee) Lott, Hermiston, Oregon, Edna Lucille (Michael) Walters, Kearns, Utah; brother Richard Morris (Eva) Phillips, Rock Springs, Wyoming; grandchildren, Robert Sandstrom, KC Sandstrom, Bo Sandstrom, Donald Sandstrom, Schuyler Phillips, Ashley Phillips, Nicole Phillips and Trista Phillips; four great grandchildren, Julyzia Sandstrom, JR Sandstrom, Isis Sandstrom and Sayler Phillips.

On October 6, 2012, Robert Lorenzo Philips Jr. died after fighting pulmonary fibrosis for more than five years. He loved to hunt any kind of fowl, deer, elk and antelope. He also enjoyed skiing with his son, trap shooting, camping, traveling, golfing, boating and windsurfing. He was a man that could do anything that needed to be wired, plumbed, repaired, built or created. He was a very talented artist. This man was a very loving husband, wonderful father, grandfather and brother. We have been so blessed to be able to call him our own and we will miss him dearly. He will forever be our best friend.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 13 at 1:00 pm at the Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah. Friends and Family may gather Friday evening from 6-8 pm and on Saturday from 12:00 to 12:45 prior to the funeral service. Interment will be at Valley View Memorial Park.
