Dear Smith family,
I attended Valley Assembly for several years. Roberts life and ministry was not in vain. My eternal gratitude for Pastor Smith and the legacy of his impact in my life.
I am a part of his legacy in Utah. Carrying the torch of God word.

Bro. Smith was my spiritual father and mentor.  He was a pillar in the Kingdom of God pioneering the full-gospel of Jesus Christ in Utah.  
In the same bold spirit of the great Western adventurers who pioneered the Rockies,  Bro. Smith blazed a trail of Bible revelation and power, unafraid of any opponents who challenged God's truth, yet gentle as a dove when dealing with the heart of someone seeking the immeasurable grace of Jesus.
I was blessed to accompany Bro. Smith along with my son on one of his many trips he led to the Holy Land.  I observed his reverance and witnessed his tenderness as tears welled up at the Garden Tomb in Jerusalem.

Bro. Smith was my pastor for several years in SLC.  He was a profound biblical prophesy teacher.  My bible has entries of every sermon I heard him preach along with his sermon's title and date.  I thank God for.Bro. Smith's influence on my life.  I have many of his sermons on tape which I treasure.  I cannot say enough praise and thanks to Bro. Smith for his Christian fellowship.

My life is full because of the love, guidance and friendship of Bro and Sis Smith…Marvelle and Robert J Smith.
I can’t imagine where I would be now, if they, and their family, hadn’t been there for me and my family.

I am so thankful for Pastor Smith. 
I was saved at his church in 1984. He was such a wonderful man of God who taught how to truly serve God.  You will be missed 


Pastor Smith and his family have been so good us since we first joined the Kearns Assembly of God church in July, 1967.  The Smiths have seen us through many hard times over the decades, and still shared many gut-laughs around their kitchen table in Kearns.  They even took us into their home during a time when we were looking for an apartment.  Sister Smith was particularly helpful in helping my sister and me find someone who would rent to us although we were both under age 21.  Brother Smith used to work at the kitchen table and whistle a song that none of us, including himself, could identify.  Turns out the song was "Marie, the Dawn is Breaking."  That will always be his song, as far as I am concerned.  A huge thank you to Brother and Sister Smith, Pastor Ray, Mari, and Gina.  You have always treated the Masons like family, and we will always love you for it.  

        My pastor, Brother Smith, had a heart after Gods own heart, a Shepard’s heart, a heart that was happy leading souls to the throne room of his creator. I will ever be grateful for his teaching, his love, and guidance as a new believer. 
         Thank you my friend, and again, thank you for lifting up Jesus.
