Ronald L. Elmen

1927 ~ 2013

Ronald LaMar Elmen, age 86, passed away after a lingering illness on August 12, 2013 in Kearns, Utah.

Ronald was born February 21, 1927 in Magna, Utah to Hyrum and Annie Elmen. He graduated from Cyprus High School. He married Beverly Daun Marlor on April 26, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He served in the Navy during WWII. He was a machinist at Kennecott Copper for 35 years. His favorite past- time was woodworking in his shop, building clocks. He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Elmen; son, Fred (Gloria) Elmen; five grandchildren; Shannon Hurst, Daun Williams (Devin), Ronald J. Elmen, Jon Elmen (Sara) and Jaime (Ben) Valdez and eleven great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his daughter, D’Ann Hurst and her husband, Lee Hurst; parents, Hyrum and Annie Elmen; 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

The family wishes to express deep gratitude to Harmony Hospice, especially Jamie, Lara, Ivan, Rudy, Fred and Lindsay.

Graveside services will be held Friday, August 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 W. 4100 So. The family will receive friends at a visitation Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 W. 4100 So., with a visitation one hour prior to the service on Friday.
