Scott Richard Tuttle, beloved husband, son, brother, and uncle, passed away on December 27, 2018 in his West Jordan home at the age of 49. During his courageous battle with esophageal cancer and especially in his final hours, Scott was surrounded by loved ones.
Scott was born on February 27, 1969 in Provo, Utah to Richard and Joyce Tuttle. He graduated from Woods Cross High School in 1987 and served a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Columbus, Ohio Mission. He also served in the Utah National Guard.
Scott was sealed to his wife, Jill (Allred) in the Logan, Utah Temple on July 10, 1992. Jill was the love of Scott’s life and his best friend. Among the many things they enjoyed together, they loved to travel, making frequent trips to Disneyland, national parks and most recently a trip to the United Kingdom. A life-long motorcycle rider, Scott loved the open road. He regularly took multi-day rides with friends and sometimes convinced Jill to ride with him.
Known to many as a gentle giant, Scott had an infectious smile, a warm laugh and was quick to make friends with everyone he met. His humility and generosity were an example to everyone he knew, and his warmth and kindness will be missed by all who knew him.
Scott is survived by his wife, Jill, his parents, Richard and Joyce, his brother Steve (Janell), his sister Suzy Lee (Jared) and many nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by sisters Tracey and Katrina.
The family would like to express sincere thanks to the many doctors and medical professionals at Intermountain Healthcare who helped Scott through the trying experience of his last months.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Scott’s life on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Sycamore Stake Center, 7504 West Abbotsbury Lane in West Jordan, Utah. Dress is casual.
