Sherry was born on October 1, 1947, in Richfield, Utah, to Charles and Joyce (Dickinson) Kennedy. She was the seventh of nine siblings.
Sherry was the beloved wife of Charles Dennis Skiby for 53 years, until his passing in 2020. They were married on June 12, 1967, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Together, they shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and deep admiration for one another. Their days were filled with playful teasing, long walks, scenic drives, and a shared passion for exploring the natural wonders of Utah.
Sherry was a cherished mother to Charlene, Rebecca, and Cheryl. She found immeasurable joy in her role as their loving mother, creating lifelong memories at their cabin in the Uintah Mountains. There, they fished, four-wheeled, and laughed until their bellies hurt.
A skilled crocheter, Sherry enjoyed making hot pads for pots and pans. She loved shopping, going on picnics, and tending to her garden. Springtime held a special place in her heart, and she made sure her daughters always had new, brightly colored flowers to enjoy each year. She also ensured that the holidays for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were filled with magic and wonder.
Sherry is preceded in death by her husband Charles Skiby, mother Joyce (Dickinson) Kennedy, father Charles Kennedy, sisters Carol, Elsa and Elva. Brothers Floyd, Richard, and Gary.
Sherry’s greatest joy was her family. She leaves behind a lasting legacy of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, all of whom were the light of her life.
Sherry is survived by her children, Charlene (Angelo) Maratta, Rebecca Skiby, and Cheryl Skiby; her grandchildren, Kieshia, Jason, Justina, Aron, Bryan, Summer (Niko), Bailey (Eliyah), Caitlen, Desira; and great-grandchildren, Damiend, Maliki, Katherine, Taycena, Treaven, Aubree, Sicily, and Isla.
