Terri grew up in Utah and graduated from Viewmont High School in Bountiful in 1974. She went on to build a career in commercial insurance and proudly embraced life as a trucker's wife-roles that reflected her strong work ethic and unwavering support for those she loved.
In her early years, Terri married Bill Salmon on July 25, 1975. Together they welcomed a daughter, Angela (Angi). Though their paths later diverged, Terri found lasting love when she met her soulmate, Tom Kiter. They were married on March 19, 1983, and together raised Angela and their son Kenneth. Terri also proudly welcomed the role of step-mother to Tommy, Terra and Troy
Terri was known for her fiery spirit and boundless heart. Small in stature but mighty in presence, she often said with a smile that "dynamite comes in small packages." Her contagious spunk lit up every room she entered. Honest to the core and fiercely loving, Terri had a way of making people feel seen and valued-traits that earned her deep affection from all who knew her.
She found joy in life's simple pleasures: camping under the stars, striking pins at Delton Bowling Lanes, trying her luck at slot machines, savoring a good cup of coffee during quiet moments, or getting lost in a good murder mystery on television. But perhaps nothing brought her more happiness than dancing with Tom and listening to him sing-a cherished ritual that spoke volumes about their enduring bond.
Terri's love for her family was fierce and unconditional. She is survived by her devoted husband of over four decades, Tom Kiter; daughter Angi (Kelly) Petersen; son Kenneth Kiter; step-daughter Terra Kiter (Mike Rodarte); step-son Troy (Chanel) Kiter; mother Virginia Teahon; sister Vicki (Chris) Watts; 14 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and 1 on the way.
She was preceded in death by her father Wilber Teahon; brother Mike Teahon; sister Cheri Teahon Fullmer; nephew Zackary Padgett; and step-son Tommy Kiter.
An open house Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, starting at 5:00 PM at the home of Kelly and Angi Petersen located at 6258 W Copan Way, West Valley City, Utah 84118. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of Terri's vibrant life and enduring legacy.
Terri leaves behind memories filled with laughter, strength, honesty, and love. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the St. Marks Hospital ICU staff for their compassion and support during Terri's final days.
In lieu of flowers, to help lay her to rest, donations can be made directly to the family or to a memorial account for Terri which can be found on any of the family's Facebook pages.
