Our beloved MVP passed peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones and left us for the great baseball field in the sky on January 6, 2022.. He was a wonderful man who deeply loved his family and will be dearly missed.
An avid lifelong fan of all things sports who loved playing, watching and attending sporting events and Willie Nelson concerts. He spent decades playing baseball and softball, as often as he could, sometimes on multiple teams for many, many years. As age caught up with him, he transitioned to playing and umpiring, then only umpiring, to umpiring and scorekeeping and eventually only scorekeeping.
Tom grew up in Midvale, Utah and graduated from Hilcrest High School. He continued the tradition of attending Dixie College and graduated with his associates degree in 1970. He was then drafted by the United States Army during the Vietnam War, while attending Utah State University. He received his bachelor's degree in 1973 and was honorably discharged from the military in 1974.
After graduating college, he began his career at Aladdin Industries as a skylight technician and loved it so much he stayed for over forty years. Upon retirement he loved spending time with his four grandkids and loved to travel with his wife and family.
He is survived by his wife Dellagene (Della), son Jason (Carey) Davis, Daughter Bernice (Sean) Allen, and grandchildren Avianna, Thomas, Patrick and Joey. His brother Kenny (Carol) Davis and Sister Jane (Stan) Pratt, along with many extended family members. Preceded in death by his parents Dorothy and Kenneth (Lefty) Davis.
We are hosting a Celebration of Life Open House and invite you to come dressed in your favorite sports attire to celebrate Tom’s life with us. It will take place on Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 3-6 pm. Military Honors and memories will be shared starting at 4pm. Refreshments will be served. Please note that masks are required.
