Tony was born on July 19, 1957 to Edna and Herb Gilbert in Pleasant Grove, UT. He graduated from Pleasant Grove High. Tony married his sweetheart Ruby on August 28, 1976 in Reno, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Tony worked at RC Willey for 24 years where his generosity and humor attracted many lifelong friends. Tony had a great love for cars. Some of his fondest memories were driving his Corvettes and Harley Davidson. During his battle this is what helped get his mind off the cancer. Tony loved to go to the shooting range with his friends and families. Tony really loved his family. He loved all of his time spent with his wife Ruby and brother and sister; shopping trips with his daughter Jami; and his lunches with his daughter Sommer. But what Tony really love the most was his grandkids. When they visited him for lunch on the weekends, they would find him in the store and run up to him and give him the biggest hugs and tell him they loved him. This would really make him smile and make his day.
Tony is survived by his wife Ruby; his daughters Jami Gilbert and Sommer (Michael) Arbuckle; two grandchildren Harley & Michael Arbuckle. Also survived by his siblings: Margret Gilbert, Herb (Charlotte) Gilbert, Michael (Julie) Gilbert, Holli (Matt) Bingham and Heidi Gilbert.
Preceded in death by his son Charles Eugene Gilbert and his parents Edna Gilbert, Herb and Myrna Gilbert.
