Traci Lynn Szwedko

I was born February 23, 1954 and I succumbed to breast cancer after a long, excruciating and exhausting fight on September 3, 2016, surrounded by my cherished husband, children, grandchildren, other family and my loving dog.

Well, my life as I’ve known it is over, but oh, what a ride it has been. I was born and raised by my loving parents Earl and Lorraine Winkelman in Pittsburgh, PA, where I met and married my high school sweetheart and love of my life, Bob. We moved to Salt Lake City in 1977 to work and run our family business, Winmark Stamp and Sign, where I was the owner for more than 30 years.

I was very involved in various chamber of commerce activities and business matters. I was a member of the Ladies Oriental Shrine of America helping raise funds for the Shriners Hospital for Children.

Bob and I are blessed with three amazing sons, Matthew (Emmalee), Jason and Brian (Mandy), who in turn blessed us with even more amazing grandchildren, Tristen, Aubrey, Ashlee, Caiden and Grace--all the loves of my life.

Bob and I loved and supported our boys in sports, especially baseball and basketball. We loved camping together and sharing Lake Powell with family and friends. We were fortunate to travel. My favorite place and where I found great solace was relaxing at a beach, wiggling my toes in the sand, or floating gently, drink in hand, watching my grandkids play.

I am succeeded by my husband Robert, sons, grand kids, sister Wendy (Don) Lauer, brother Brett (Cathy) Winkelman, many nieces, nephews, friends, and my dog, Bella. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Shriners Hospital for Children, Salt Lake City or St. Judes Childrens Hospital, Memphis, TN.

Family and friends may visit for a celebration of life on Friday, September 9, 2016 from 6:00-8:00pm at Valley View Memorial Park and Funeral Home - 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah 84120. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 11:00 at Valley View Memorial Park and Funeral Home - 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah 84120 with a viewing from 10:00-10:45am.
