

William Dennis “Whip” Whipple, cherished and much-loved husband, father and grandfather passed away from dementia on October 4, 2021. Born in Tooele, Utah on August 23, 1945 to Dewey Albert Whipple and Ruth McKean Whipple. Whip was the youngest of their four children. He had many wonderful adventures with his brothers and sister: Doug, Tom, and Doris. He enjoyed telling stories of their escapades in Pine Canyon and shenanigans growing up.
He served in the Navy on the USS Estes during the Vietnam war.
He married Janna Stathis and they had four children: Matthew (April) Whipple, Jaden (Shawn) Larsen, Jaci Johns, and Monica Whipple. Married for 17 years and later divorced. Married Becky DeAngelis who passed away after 32 years of marriage. Married childhood sweetheart, Cheryl Mandarino Fox in 2018 whom he dated in 1965.
Whip was a lot of fun and loved to make people laugh. He was a carpenter, worked for Snap-on Tools and was a business owner . He loved traveling and bowling on leagues for many years. He had a huge heart and enjoyed helping others.
He is survived by his wife, children and grandchildren: Tanner, Braden, and Avarey Larsen, Xander Whipple, Ryker and Eastyn Johns. Brother and sisters-in-law Doug (Karen)Whipple, Jill Whipple, and sister Doris Schooley. Half brothers: Dexter Whipple and Ted Pitts.
Preceded in death by his parents, brother Tom, daughter Monica, sister Jessie, half brothers: Walter LeGrand, Richard LaVar, Albert Jay, Floyd LeRoy, Dewey Albert Jr., Roy Dean Whipple and Arnold Pitts, half sisters: Jenevieve Alma and Illa Whipple.
Funeral services and interment will be held at Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 West 4100 South in West Valley on Saturday, October 9 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation from 12:30 p.m. – 1:45 p.m. prior to services.
