Hello family/loved ones of Mr. Carr, I am aware it has been a while since his death, but I am writing this for his memory. I am a former student of his, and I am now graduated from Oak Hills High School this past year (2023). I was very saddened to hear the news of his passing, as I believe that he was a great teacher and mentor. He has taught me countless stories to be told, and I cannot fathom the amount of grief everyone he has influenced has gone through. I was in his 5th grade class, and though it was more than 7 years ago, the memory still remains fresh in my mind. I remember reading stories like Brian’s Winter and Call it Courage, stories that told a tale of a brave person able to step up and be able to persevere through tumultuous times. I remember making one-pagers of maps of the stories and having them hung up on twine that was strung across the classroom. That brought much comfort. From Mr. Carr, I learned Native American culture, what a hatchet was, and even what animal venison was. At the time, I never understood why he chose the stories that were so rugged and had to be broken down so much, but I understand now that to get to the good part of something, you have to break it out of its shell. One thing that allowed me to break out was the project where students had to team up to make paper mache planets that would eventually begin to cultivate into the ecosystem. It was a great time really, and it forced me to learn about the great big world that we reside in. I believe that he will live on in memory, as he does in mine. I hope this condolence finds you well.

Aaron may you rest in paradise.  I have always loved your family and you.  May you join your amazing dad Gail Carr, loving mom Gwen Carr, and your adorable grandma in paradise.  Please watch over us from Heaven.  We will miss you deeply!

Mr. Aaron Carr was such a nice person. I met him in 2012 when my children began to attend the school where he taught. He always spoke when he would see me. I had the pleasure of having him be a teacher to one of my children. In May 2021, I received a nice email from him. May he rest well and I know he definitely will be missed! What a great loss to all who knew him! My deepest  condolences to his family!


I always really liked and enjoyed talking to Aaron! He was a wonderful person, a great son from two of the finest parents who ever lived. I cracked up with what he said when speaking at his father’s funeral...something along the lines of, “growing up, I got a lot of my father’s attention, maybe a little TOO MUCH of my father’s attention!” He and I would often chat as we had a child the same age so we saw each other fairly often in Placentia. He was easy to talk to and had an opinion about pretty much everything. He was a devoted son and so kind to his mother and granny after his father passed away. He loved his two girls and did a ton for them. He will be so very missed!
