

Ima Louise Spicer-Staats, 86, affectionately called “Nana” or “Gma”, died peacefully at home in Tustin on November 14, 2010. She was born in Paris, Arkansas and moved to California when she married LeRoy Spicer in September of 1943, who passed away in January of 1991. In 1996, she was pursued by an old friend from Arkansas, Abner Staats, whom she married in December. During her short marriage of 9 months to Abner, she was as happy as a school girl. She lost Abner to Leukemia in August of 1997.
Louise loved to crochet, sew and especially spend time with her family. Her grandkids and great grandkids were her special joy. She loved people and wanted to help everyone, and in return, she was loved by everyone she met and will be missed by all.
She is survived by her four children: Joy Levee Spicer, Rod Spicer, Cindy (Dan) Loomer and Ken (Lindy) Spicer; her eight grandchildren and their spouses: Amy & Bob Charron, Danny & Sherri Loomer, Timri & Jon Rodriguez, Justin Smithhisler, Jeff Guss, Adam and Asa Guss, Kristy & Mike Mulree, and Brian & April Spicer; and her fourteen great grandchildren: Danyelle, Heather, and Brody Charron; Jacob and Nathan Loomer; Tyler Rose Ratzlaff and Parker Rodriquez; Kyle and Felix Guss; Ellie, Bethany, and Tucker Mulree; and Noah and Wesley Spicer.
The viewing will be on Wednesday, Nov. 17, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and the Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 18, at 12:00 p.m., both at Westminster Memorial Park, 14801 Beach Blvd., Westminster, CA, 92683. 714-893-2421. Gathering afterward will be at Newland Street Church of Christ,13852 Newland Street, Garden Grove, CA, 714-893-5636, after the graveside ceremony.
